University: University of Miami
Professor: Helena Solo-Gabriele

I attended the University of Miami for my undergraduate studies and recently graduated with my bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering. I am continuing my studies at UM under Dr. Helena Solo-Gabriele in pursuit of my Ph.D. My research area of focus is in the life cycle of preservative treated wood. I am currently working on my first publication regarding the production, disposal, and leaching of preservative treated wood. This project was funded by the HCSHWM. We are hoping to continue and build on my treated wood forecasting model throughout my time at UM. I expect to graduate in May 2020. After this I plan to continue a career in research with the goal of minimizing human impacts on the environment as much as I can. I am grateful for the opportunity to carry out my research that was provided to me by the University of Miami and the Hinkley Center.
