Solar Technology and Power Generation in Closed Landfills– Economic Evaluation of Landfill Post Closure Use
Investigator: James Sullivan, UF
Hinkley Cetner Report #: 117966
Use of renewable energy has been a developing issue over the past 100 years with the development of hydro power and more recently with concerns of global warming and limited unsustainable resources for power generation. Even in United States this phenomenon has gained attention. Geothermal, Solar, Wind and Hydro power have recently increased their contribution to the overall energy generation. This report particularly deals with understanding the feasibility of the solar system installed over a landfill, specifically this report will evaluate conditions and scenarios related to the state of Florida.
